As reported a press-the court Secretary Raymond lochmelis, the court rejected the claim Smirnova in part on compensation in the amount of 68 thousand euros, on public apology and recall of information insulting the honor and dignity, and against market Commission of Finance and capital.

The verdict can be appealed within 30 days.

In 2008 FMF for two days Smirnov was detained for his critical remarks about the Latvian economy — about a possible devaluation of the lats. The court asked the economist in 2010, because for two years no single state Agency has not seen fit to apologize to him.

In 2012, the lawsuit Smirnov was dismissed by the court of first instance.
