The advantages of winter tires during the cold season are obvious: they are made of rubber compounds that retain their softness even in the bitter cold, have a special tread pattern, which helps the car to drive on icy roads, not forcing the driver from time to time to work with the shovel, pushing the car from the snow drifts.

Contrary to popular belief, winter tires are necessary not only in regions where snow lies for 2-3 months, but in the snowless climate, because, despite the lack of snow, low temperatures will have an adverse impact on the material of the tire, causing the vehicle may stop to listen to the helm.

All-season rubber is far from ideal, as it copes with low temperatures only up to a certain point, losing its properties in extreme cold. According to experts, as soon as the temperature falls below -5 Celsius, all-season tires ceases to perform its functions. At the same time, with winter tires is the opposite situation. The lower the temperature, the better are the characteristics of winter tires.

Note that all season tires are a compromise. And, like any compromise, they do not offer the best option for both tasks, only partially solving the problem for both seasons. They have a lower tread, providing a weak grip in slippery conditions of the road, than winter tyres.

However, each driver is free to make choices independently. Good luck on the road!
