The objective of the Latvian transport and logistics industry is the development of new markets, particularly in Eurasia, so the last week of Latvian railway took part in the exhibition "Rail Expo 2017", held in the Iranian capital Tehran. LDz stand was visited by many industry experts and stakeholders, and in the early days had established contacts with the Iranian railway and its subsidiaries.

At the same time, in Antwerp, Belgium on may 17 opened its honorary Consulate in Latvia. In the framework of this event a seminar was organized in cooperation of entrepreneurs of the transport and logistics industry in Flanders and Latvia. Subsidiary company of Latvian railway "LDz Loģistika" also took part in it and acquainted with its proposed services. The workshop participants could learn about Latvia as about the lucrative transport corridor that allows from the ports of Flanders through Latvian ports and multimodal facilities "LDz Loģistika" for transporting goods to CIS countries and Asia.

In the business seminar was also attended by former honorary Consul of Latvia Walter van Mechelen. In the field of transport and logistics he is working with Latvia already for several decades.
