The reason for the deferral, as explained on the website of Roscosmos, began "the delay in the execution of works by European and Russian industrial contractors and in the implementation of mutual deliveries of scientific instruments".
Mission ExoMars-2016 was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome on March 14. The mission includes device Trace Gas Orbiter and landing demonstration module Schiaparelli, they will arrive to Mars in October.
TGO will examine, in particular, small gas pollutants in the atmosphere and the distribution of water ice in the Mars soil. Schiaparelli designed for development of the technology of atmospheric entry, descent, and landing research. It will work on Mars just a few days, until the battery charge.
In early April, as reported by "Interfax", the specialists tested the instrument ExoMars, all Russian scientific instruments functioned normally.
The second phase of the ExoMars mission involves sending it to Mars, the Russian landing platform and the European Rover, the launch of which is planned carrier rocket "proton-M" from Baikonur cosmodrome. A key task at this stage will be drilling and analysis of Martian soil — scientists believe that at a depth of several meters could remain traces of organic life.
