As stated by the LSSP leader Peteris Krigers, the people's Assembly "For a decent job and a decent wage for a healthy and educated person in Latvia" went according to plan, and the number of participants was even a little more than planned.

Krigers stressed that now the unions expect from the Parliament and the government reaction to their demands. "The situation has not changed — the financing of strategic sectors is not increased, so there are legitimate concerns that they will be destroyed," said Krigers.

For example, plans in the health care sector suggests the conclusion that she is preparing for privatization, and people who will not be able to pay for medical services, "will benefit funeral services," said trade Union leader.

Krigers stressed that the government should refuse the excess and unnecessary spending by increasing incomes. "As long as we're wasting funds on government, it seems, doesn't spend any other European country", — concluded the head of the LSSP.

For a rally of trade unions, which today at the dome square held LSSP, gathered almost 3,000 people. Participants of meeting "For a decent job and a decent wage for a healthy and educated person in Latvia" have come to share with the slogan "Quality education is not free!", "We will not be silent! Everyone should protect the rights to accessible and quality health care, "Our silence is harmful to your health, Stop self homeowners!", "The government, Wake up!", "Citadele", "Liepajas Metalurgs" — what will be the next Scam the government for our taxes?" etc.

The leader of the trade unions Peteris Krigers, opening the meeting, said that today people gathered on dome square, to discuss problems that require solutions. While those requirements which were made earlier, have remained unheeded.

Krigers stressed that public safety is threatened — the queue for health services, low salaries for police and teachers do not contribute to the sense of security in Latvia.
