According to French media, he received five bullet wounds when he tried to escape from police in a BMW on the highway A16.

On Wednesday around 8 a.m. the suspect crashed his car into a group of soldiers close to the barracks in the suburb of Levallois-Perret. Injured six soldiers, but their life is out of danger.

The suspect was known to police because he committed a crime, but in France it was legal. Special services it was not known, reported by French media.

At the moment of detention the man was unarmed. He lives in the suburbs of Paris Sartrouville.

The Paris Prosecutor called the attack "an assassination attempt... associated with a terrorist intent".

The Minister of internal Affairs of France Gerard Collon reported that the attacker acted alone.
