In order to combat illegal migration, the EU intends to expand the training program for the coast guard of Libya, reports the newspaper Welt am Sonntag with reference to sources in diplomatic circles in Brussels.

According to the publication, the EU plans to train and supply boats and land vehicles not only military force of the Libyan coast guard, but also police units involved in the protection of the coast.

For this purpose the European Commission will allocate 30 million euros, 16 million euros will provide Italy indicates Welt am Sonntag.
