In particular, the European Parliament will introduce a visa-free regime for Turkey provided that the Turkish authorities to urgently fulfill the conditions for visa liberalisation according to the commitments that March 18, 2016.
The proposal was submitted along with a report on Turkey's progress towards fulfillment of the conditions.
"Turkey has made impressive progress, especially in recent weeks, on the way to achieving the standards of visa liberalization. There is still work to be done urgently, but if Turkey supports the progress made, it can achieve all the other standards. That is why we put forward the proposal to the European Parliament and member countries of the EU to solve the question of the abolition of the visa regime after all required conditions are met" – quotes RBC of a word of the first Deputy Chairman of the European Commission Frans Timmermans.
As already wrote on the eve of DELFI, the Government of Turkey abolished visas for citizens of all 28 countries of the European Union in the framework of the agreement on mutual visa liberalization.
