In 24 years of existence, the Center of the state language in the public space has not been published no official report about the economic impact of its activities. Meanwhile, logic, and international experience suggests that a ban of specific words can have very concrete economic consequences.
In any case, without questioning the functional importance of the institution, the portal Delfi has taken the liberty to fill the information gap and tried to imagine what the ban could mean "merengue", "baristas" and other foreign words — from the point of view of private business.
