Spruds lawyer Janis Rozenbergs, told reporters that the decision does not meet the requirements of a fair trial because the judge and the prosecution refused to provide documents justifying the abandonment of Sprūds in custody. According to him, the possibility of recourse to the European court of human rights.
The lawyer also added that Spruds does not give any indications as it believes that the case filed against him is unfounded.
The hearing lasted about eight hours. The full text of the verdict will be available on Monday. The court's decision is not appealable.
