    According to the Ministry of transport Republic of Latvia, in the first quarter of 2017, the volume of transshipment angle in Latvian ports increased by 41.4 %, to 5.7 million tons, writes www.rzd.ru. In the period from January to March, Ventspils commercial port increased its coal handling to 806 thousand tons (40% growth). Two times increased the volume of transshipment at the Baltic Coal Terminal (up to 1237 million tonnes). This is due to the rapid growth of prices on the world market — up to 80-90 U.S. dollars per ton.
